Liverpool will be looking forward to next season after having an excellent season this time out under Jurgen Klopp, as the club remain on course to win their sixth Champions League.
The Reds will be looking to add some quality to their already talented squad, and with the impending arrival of midfielder Naby Keita, Liverpool will be hoping that they can push City even further next season in their quest for Premier League glory.
Here in the Tavern, our landlord thinks the club needs to invest in a new goalkeeper, despite the emergence of Loris Karius as the number one at Anfield.
One goalkeeper who fits the mould of someone who can come straight in and make an impact in the Premier League is Atletico Madrid stopper Jan Oblak, who has been tremendous now over the course of a few seasons.
Oblak is a commanding presence in his penalty area, as well as being a superb shot stopper, and is genuninely up there with being one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
If Liverpool are serious about challenging and really making a dent in City’s dominance this season, then signing someone like Oblak could be a key move.
While it’s strikers who get the headlines, having a world class goalkeeper in the squad can be just as important, and if Liverpool can address that situation, then their first Premier League title might not be too far away.
Reds fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
