With Liverpool safely through in the Champions League thanks to a 7-0 mauling of Spartak Moscow in midweek, attentions will now firmly turn to the Premier League, with a crucial local derby with Everton up this weekend for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
The Reds will be hoping that the chance to concentrate firmly on the Premier League can see them get some consistency in their game, something which has severely lacked this term, despite the excellent form of Mo Salah.
Our landlord here in the Tavern is interested in what Liverpool do in the January window, and he thinks that they could do with adding a quality central striker to their ranks. One man he sees as being the ideal signing and someone who can deliver at Anfield is Celtic star, Moussa Dembele.
The young French striker has been nothing short of a revelation since making the move north of the border from Fulham 18 months ago, and despite an injury curtailing some of his progress, his goals record has been superb for the Hoops.
Pacey, good in front of goal, and still young, Dembele could develop into a top striker for years to come, giving Liverpool a serious edge over many of their rivals when it comes to snatching games with a moment of magic or one chance.
Dembele would cost a fair bit, but Celtic could not reject Premier League money if it’s offered, and Dembele himself would surely not pass up the chance to make the switch to Anfield.
Liverpool fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
