Liverpool ended up chucking a vital three points away the past weekend against Spurs as a late Virgil Van Dijk challenged afforded Harry Kane the chance to knock in his 100th Premier League goal and rescue a 2-2 draw.
The result was bitterly felt by manager Jurgen Klopp, who was hoping for a winning start to life after the transfer window following the sale of Philippe Coutinho and the addition of defender Van Dijk.
It was not to be though for the Reds, and this week plenty of our Liverpool punters here in the Tavern have been speaking to our landlord about the next transfer window, and just who the club should look to sign with some of the Coutinho money.
One position which has been a hot topic of conversation is up front, where despite Roberto Firmino being in good form, there’s a strong sense that the Reds could further improve with a top class number nine to lead the line.
One man who could be interested in a move to Anfield and a reunion with his former manager Jurgen Klopp is Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, who has been in emphatic form for the German giants for a number of years now.
Lewandowski is a class act, capable at the highest level and with the record to back it up both domestically and internationally.
Bayern would certainly not want to lose their big striker, but he could be tempted by a move to the Premier League to test himself, and he would surely be the missing link who maybe, just maybe, could finally fire Liverpool to tha elusive first Premier League title.
Liverpool fans, what do you think? Would this be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
