The Premier League transfer window has been closed since early August, but that has not stopped clubs from English football’s top flight from being linked with players ahead of next year.
And one man who has been touted to join a Premier League side in the near future is Paris Saint-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot.
PSG boss Thomas Tuchel has admitted he does not know whether Rabiot will remain at the Parc des Princes with the French midfielder’s contract set to expire next summer (via Manchester Evening News).
Liverpool have since been linked with Rabiot but, according to the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp has no intention of bringing the France international to Anfield.
Rabiot is undoubtedly a very talented midfield player, but Liverpool have made the right call distancing themselves from him.
Klopp is currently blessed with a bunch options in the middle of the park. Naby Keita, James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and Fabinho are more than enough for the German boss, while he still awaits the return of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from injury.
There is just not any room for £45m-rated (via Transfermarkt) Rabiot, a player who is unlikely to elevate Liverpool given what the club already have at their disposal in midfield.
All in all, Rabiot to Liverpool would be a move that would not benefit either party. The 23-year-old would struggle for minutes in a team that does not need a player of his profile.
