Liverpool star admits he hasn’t been good enough this term

Liverpool v Swansea City - Barclays Premier LeagueLiverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern cannot wait to hear what the Liverpool Echo have to say after it becomes clear the Reds have one player who does not think he has been good enough this season.

While a few of our regulars mistakenly thought Mario Balotelli must have been speaking out about his first season with the club, it is actually £25 million midfielder Adam Lallana who wants to improve next season.

He claimed: ‘Getting injured and missing pre-season I feel played a big part in my recurring injuries. It’s a very important part for a footballer to get the basis of the fitness in.

‘But I want to be fully fit for the run-in, we’ve still got an outside chance of making the top four, and that’s something I want to be a part of. And obviously the last game of the season is the FA Cup final.’

Now we think that Lallana has been decent, but as a whole, the Liverpool squad have been nowhere near as good as they were last season and we think that the performance put in by Luis Suarez against Paris Saint Germain just showed everyone what the Reds have been missing.

Liverpool fans. Can Lallana improve or is he simply not as good as the likes of Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera? Let us know your thoughts below.
