For a man who claims frequently to have been ‘lost in translation,’ Liverpool’s Luis Suarez seems to get quoted an awful lot and today the Daily Mail have a sensational story that has turned the Football Transfer Tavern into a frenzy.
The publication and just about every sporting site on the planet has reported that the forward has claimed it would be a challenge to turn down advances from Real Madrid who of course are thought to be preparing a move for the star man and also that the English press have pushed him to the limit.
The Uruguayan star claimed that: “Liverpool want me to stay, but it would be difficult to say no to Real Madrid.
“I have the desire to be successful in big teams, the hope and dream to make it into the biggest teams in the world are always there.
“I talked to my agent and there’s nothing concrete yet. I want to make it clear that to Real Madrid it’s hard to say no.
“I can only have words of gratitude for the club, the fans, and the people of Liverpool. I love, I love to be in Liverpool, I am happy in Liverpool.”
Whilst this may be comforting news to Liverpool fans the 26-year-old then continued to claim: “I have a family who are also suffering and it has gone beyond the limit.
“I am not prepared to keep on putting up with the English journalists. I have fought too hard since I was a child to get to where I am to let some journalists batter me in an unfair way.”
Is Suarez in a position to play the victim after his actions? Is this the beginning of the end of his Anfield career? Let us know your thoughts below.
