Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has only been on the first team scene for twelve months, but he has already made an impression and established himself as something of a character.
At just 18-years-old, Sterling has managed 29 first team appearances in the Premier League for the Reds, as well as earning a first senior cap for the England senior national team.
But Sterling has also hit the headlines for his antics off the pitch, some of which are unsavoury, others comedic.
The youngster first shot to fame for getting a public dressing down from Brendan Rodgers on documentary series ‘Being: Liverpool’ last year, and also revealed in his first public interview that Rodgers wasn’t even his biggest critic; it was in fact his Mum!
“My Mum rules my life – she’s a nightmare at times, but I love her and she’s the main person in my life,” Sterling revealed in January.
“She has got a very strong personality and thinks she’s the boss!
“When I get home from training, she’s there, in my face. She’s there 24/7. I don’t know where she gets her knowledge from.
“Now she thinks she’s Jose Mourinho!”
We wonder what Mrs Sterling would make of her son’s choice of hair do, with the 18-year-old competing with Djibril Cisse for Liverpool’s most frequent ‘look changer’ of all-time.
This particular shot shows Sterling going for the look inspired by UK chart topping singer Emeli Sande.
Whilst many may think Sterling looks like a ‘Clown’, we are sure his Mum would have told him: ‘Beneath your beautiful’. Just don’t stand ‘Next to me’. Enough puns yet?
