Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have already been impressed with summer signing Simon Mignolet, so much so that Pepe Reina has already been forgotten about at Anfield.
Now Metro report that Reina may have played his last game for the Reds after agreeing to join La Liga giants Barcelona at the end of the season.
The Spanish international is currently spending the season on loan at Serie A side Napoli, playing under Rafael Benitez, following the arrival of Mignolet from Sunderland.
But despite only moving to Italy on a season-long long, his days at the Merseyside club appears to at an end after reports in Spain indicated that the 31-year-old has agreed a move to join up with Barcelona next summer.
Reina, who still has three years left on contract with the Reds, was thought to be tracked by the La Liga giants earlier this summer but current number one Victor Valdes decided to remain at the Nou Camp for one more season instead and a move didn’t materalise.
Reports yesterday suggested that the La Liga champions were targeting a move for Chelsea starlet Thibaut Courtois, who is currently in his third season on loan at Atletico Madrid, where he has impressed.
But the Belgian international soon dismissed reports insisting he wants to fight with Petr Cech for the goalkeeper shirt at Stamford Bridge in the near future.
Should Liverpool offer Reina another chance at Anfield or is it time to move on? Let us know your thoughts below.
