Liverpool star issues admission to Jurgen Klopp about club future

Our resident Liverpool supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are in relatively good spirits, with the club situated nicely in fourth spot in the Premier League.

It’s fair to say it has been a rollercoaster of a season for the Merseyside outfit, with Jurgen Klopp and his side seriously struggling to produce any sort of good form at the start of the year.

However, slowly they seem to be getting back into the swing of things, and it’s finally looking up on the red half of Merseyside.

The Reds currently sit four points above Jose Mourinho’s red-hot Manchester United, though the Red Devils have two games in hand, so can potentially leapfrog Liverpool in the upcoming weeks.

One man who has been a topic of debate several times here in the Tavern, is Ragnar Klavan.

The 31-year-old has been in and out of Jurgen Klopp’s side this season and our landlord just cannot decide whether the Estonian is good enough for the Premier League.

However, it seems that the Estonian has every bit of faith in himself and has issued a message to Mr Klopp.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Klavan said: “As a player for this club, you want to play Champions League.

“For me as well, I want to be important for this club and whatever the role is going to be I’m always going to be there for this team.

“Whenever it’s needed, I’m going to be there and this is how it is.

“When the manager says you play, then you play. When he says you don’t play, then you wait for your chance.

Clearly a man who has ambitions, our regular Reds fans by the bar here in the Tavern aren’t convinced that the Estonian will get much game-time next season, and could envisage him leaving Anfield this summer!

Red fans…. What do you make of Klavan’s comments? Let us know below!
