The Daily Star have Liverpool fans smiling here in the Football Transfer Tavern after they claimed that the star of the club will not leave should the club fail to get into the top four.
As one of our punters notes at this point, the club look odds on in getting into the top four, meaning that they actually have very little to worry about. In fact the title is a very real possibility for the Anfield club.
Now it seems that Luis Suarez has pledged his future to the club with the Uruguayan forward noting: “I signed my new contract because I’m very happy here and I want to stay where I’m enjoying football and life.
“Playing in the Champions League isn’t dependent on that. I’d actually prefer not to win this Golden Boot and for Liverpool to qualify for the Champions League this season.
“Any player would miss the Champions League. We’ve not been good enough since I’ve been here to qualify, but this could definitely be our year.
“It would be a frustration not to get fourth because we’ve done everything possible and given our maximum to qualify.”
As our punters note, this speaks volumes and we think that it shows just how much the player enjoys life at Liverpool under Brendan Rodgers who has done an incredible job since the tenure of Kenny Dalglish.
Will Luis Suarez stay true to his word? Quite simply, should potential suitors not bother calling this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
