Luis Suarez is never far from the topic of conversation inside the Football Transfer Tavern, and Tom Hopkinson of the Sunday People has stopped by to provide us with a rumour on the strikers future.
It is reported that Manchester City’s incoming manager Maunel Pellegrini has asked the board to provide him with four new players to help launch an assault on the Premier League next season, with one of them being the controversial Liverpool striker.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has repeatedly stated that Suarez will not be sold this summer, and he expects the Uruguayan to stay at the club after they stood by him during his most recent controversy.
Suarez will complete his 10 game ban for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic next season, and is set to miss the opening six games of the campaign.
This has not put City off however, who are more interested in the fact Suarez banged 30 goals in all competitions last season, and almost single handedly carried Liverpool for the majority of the campaign, as the clubs only fit senior striker.
City have also targeted central defenders Diego Godin of Atletico Madrid, and Valencia’s Adil Rami. Godin’s team-mate Mario Suarez is another in the clubs sights, but Luis Suarez is the number one target, although it will take a massive offer for Liverpool to even consider.
City see Suarez as the ideal partner for Sergio Aguero, who has recently signed a new contract at the Etihad.
