Just when it seemed that their season could not get any better, Liverpool fans are about to hear even more good news here in the Football Transfer Tavern, courtesy of the Daily Mirror.
The publication has claimed that forward and skipper for the day Luis Suarez could well be about to pen a new deal with the Anfield club.
After a summer of uncertainty, it seemed that Suarez was on his way out of the club, but it is now thought that he will stay at least until next summer.
The Reds have just thrashed Tottenham Hotspur to take second place in the league table, and as one of our punters quips, could well see Champions League football return to Anfield next season.
If that is the case, Suarez could well be persuaded to stay at the club who have shown him so much support. Even if he did eventually chose to leave, by signing an extended or even improved deal with Liverpool could well profit the club by increasing his £40 million release clause.
Suarez’ form has seen him become one of the hottest properties in Europe, with both Real Madrid and Barcelona eager to land him. The player would prefer to sign for Real Madrid, but is content to see out the season at the very least under Brendan Rodgers.
