Liverpool fans are permanently in a good mood here in the Football Transfer Tavern and Metro have kind of helped things along.
The publication have claimed that Iago Aspas will not be leaving the club in the summer, despite a difficult first season.
As our punters note over a pint, the former Celta Vigo player may be a little bit temperamental, but we think that he should be given at least one more season to bed into the Premier League, and if anyone can get the best out of him, it will be Brendan Rodgers.
After being heavily linked with a move away from Anfield, the player’s agent came out to deny claims of an exit, and noted: “There is no possibility of Iago returning to Spain or going anywhere else.
“Iago has a four-year contract with Liverpool and is very happy to be with the Reds, apart from the fact that he would obviously like to play more.”
This, as our landlord points out over a pint, is despite the player claiming that he would consider leaving Liverpool in order to gain first team action. Maybe he’s just content to be part of the Reds’ bandwagon; after all, they are top of the Premier League right now!
Do you think Aspas can still cut it at Anfield or is it a step too far for the Spaniard? Let us know your thoughts below.
