Arsenal fans are getting angry, Liverpool fans have started saying “yeah but we can still win the league”, Tottenham Hotspur fans are crying and Manchester United fans are smugly saying “I knew he’d come back” and it is all because of David Woods and Duncan Wright’s story in the Daily Star.
The duo believe that (you ready for this); Gareth Bale will go to Real Madrid. Luis Suarez will too. Cristiano Ronaldo will then go to Manchester United and Arsenal will…well, the Gunners will still have only signed Yaya Sanogo.
It appears that David and Duncan’s story could have substance as it has been revealed, firstly, that Bale’s name wasn’t on the wall of Spurs’ training ground, a wall that contains a list of players for the forthcoming season.
Secondly, Liverpool have already made a bid for Atletico Madrid’s striker Diego Costa which suggests that Brendan Rodgers and co are preparing for life without their Uruguayan international.
This transfer merry-go-round could potentially end three of the summer’s biggest stories but I’m sure we will still have plenty more to discuss in the Football Transfer Tavern but if not, then well, there’s always the pool table.
