It has been a fantastic day for Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern and the Daily Mail have just made it a little bit more intriguing.
The publication have claimed that on loan forward Fabio Borini is wanted on a permanent basis by Sunderland this summer, and Gus Poyet is making no secret of that fact.
The Black Cats manager has spoken about the Italian forward who has excelled this season whilst on loan from Anfield and his form has not gone unnoticed by Brendan Rodgers.
The Liverpool manager will certainly have a dilemma in the summer if a bid comes in for the player and given the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez are firing on all cylinders, there may not be space for Borini.
Poyet was asked about his plans for the former Chelsea and Roma forward and noted: “In the beginning it was my fault he was not playing. Now, if he’s not the first one you pick, he’ll be the next one. He’s at that level.
“I don’t know if it will be possible to sign him, it’s out of our hands but I can tell you that we like him a lot and we will try.
“People will say the price is going up. I’m not going to lie, he’s an important player, he’s been great. I hope he finishes the season at the same level scoring important goals.”
Do you think that Borini will find a place at Anfield or will Poyet land him permanently in the summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
