For some reason, the Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have all given themselves a ‘Super Mario’ style haircut.
But according to talkSPORT, Reds winger Raheem Sterling has warned that it may take the fiery Italian international some time to replace the goals lost by Luis Suarez’s sale.
‘Chewy Luis’ – as the regulars call him – left the Anfield club during the summer for £75 million when Barcelona lured him to La Liga.
But teenage sensation Sterling insists the former AC Milan striker can’t be expected to carry the goal scoring burden on his own – and has called on the rest of the side to help him out.
He said: “Luis will be missed, obviously. With 31 (league) goals in a season, anyone would miss him. He’s a massive loss, but the manager has brought in other players to fill the void.
“I haven’t come across Mario too much, but he has the ability and the goalscoring ratio to achieve great things here.
“But obviously not everyone’s going to score 31 goals, so the plan is to chip in with more goals across the team.”
