Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have had little to cheer of late but there was some excitement today after talkSPORT reported that starlet Raheem Sterling is prepared to stay the club for the long-term.
There has been much speculation around the bar that Sterling was ready to leave Anfield in the near future with Arsenal and Manchester United reportedly interested in snapping up the youngster.
However he has dismissed these claims and talkSPORT believe that he is loving life on Merseyside and does not want to leave anytime soon.
Brendan Rodgers gave the 17-year-old winger his breakthrough in the first team this season and he has been rewarded with some brilliant performances which has earned him his first England cap.
Sterling, who has made 14 appearances for the Reds this term, is still waiting to be offered a new contract offer from the Anfield club and that had put Premier League rivals on alert that he may want to leave, however that appears not to be the case, much to the delight of Liverpool punters in the tavern.
