Liverpool star’s ‘injury’ is not a good sign

The Liverpool fans are in the Transfer Tavern tonight still holding their breath and crossing every finger they have that Coutinho doesn’t leave.

Reports from the Daily Star have indicated that Liverpool’s want away star Philippe Coutinho is on the verge of completing a reported £91 million move to Spanish giants Barcelona.

Whilst that could be all speculation right now, the fact that the Brazilian maestro hasn’t travelled to Germany for Liverpool’s Champions League qualifier against Hoffenheim due to an ‘injury’ doesn’t help the situation.

Our landlord can’t help but notice that whenever a player is strongly linked with a move away from a club, they suddenly pick up an ‘injury’.

Most notably is Alexis Sanchez’s apparent injury that kept him out of the Community Shield final and Arsenal’s opening game against Leicester, despite being a player that has proven in the past to be able to play through pretty much anything.

Again, this is all speculation and Coutinho really could be injured but it is quite the coincidence that all of a sudden, he’s not fit to play only weeks after handing in a transfer request.

In all honesty, as good of a player that the playmaker is Liverpool should shift their focus to getting in a few new defenders and working out some new defensive tactics if their performance against Watford is anything to go by.

It’s not looking good Liverpool fans so probably start preparing for the worst and don’t go getting ‘Coutinho 10’ on the back of your shirts just yet.
