Liverpool fans look slightly annoyed here in the Football Transfer Tavern as the The Independent notes that Barcelona shirts with ‘L. Suarez’ are already on sale in Spain.
As one of our punters notes, this is more than cheeky considering Barcelona have not yet reached an agreement with Liverpool over the Uruguayan forward.
As we know, transfers can fall through at the last minute even when they look like being signed and sealed.
However, the fact that they are willing to print shirts with the forward’s name on the back only further confirms what we already knew.
Now the fact of the matter is that Liverpool will have to begin preparing for life without Suarez – not that they would have had him for the first part of the season anyway!
We think that there are more than a couple of quality forwards out there who can take the Uruguayan’s place, and they would certainly cause a lot less trouble for the Reds!
Schalke’s Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has been the striker linked with Liverpool the most in recent days following a few fleeting appearances from the bench at the World Cup for the Netherlands.
Brendan Rodgers will be looking to get someone in who is tried and tested at the very top level and given the Reds’ return to the Champions League this season, the tavern is now buzzing with potential names.
Liverpool fans. Do you just want to the Suarez transfer saga to be over and done with now? Let us know your thoughts below.
