There is some excitement for the supporters of the red half of Merseyside here in the Football Transfer Tavern today.
This is after the Daily Mail claimed that Liverpool were set to ramp up their chase for a highly rated young English star.
One of our favourite publications claims that the Reds are set to make a move for Dele Alli, the coveted MK Dons midfielder who has previously played for the England Under-17 side.
As one of our punters turns around in his chair, he notes that we are not totally sure who the player actually is, and bar a couple of games, we have not really seen him in action.
It is a good job then that our landlord has a spare moment over pouring the drinks while filling us in on the gossip.
The midfielder is 17-years-old standing at over six feet tall and had a host of scouts watching his recent game against Wigan Athletic – including Barry Hunter – who is of course the chief scout Liverpool.
Brendan Rodgers is a big fan of the young star and is keen to bring in some more youthful talent into his side. Alli is comfortable on the ball and looks like someone who can grow and nurture as a player.
As we already know in the tavern, there is also Will Hughes, the Derby County midfielder, who features highly on the radar of the Northern Irishman.
Is Dele Alli the latest young star to rock up at Anfield? Let us know your thoughts below.
