We never know whether to trust football agents here in the Football Transfer Tavern and today is another scenario where we are taking what has been said with a pinch of salt. Metro report that Andreas Weimann’s agent has admitted that the striker has had offers for a possible summer transfer.
With 12 goals to help Aston Villa remain in the Premier League, the 21-year-old has been one of the best players at Villa Park this term and unsuspectingly his ensured displays have attracted interest from other Premier League clubs.
The Austrian international’s contract runs out at the end of next season and the club are eager to tie him down for a longer deal but his agent Rob Groener was not sure that his client would be still at the club next season.
“Andi will stay in the Premier League but at which club I don’t know,” Groener said.
“There are offers but we’ll first meet Villa.”
Weimann, who is thought to be interesting Liverpool among others, is due to sit down for talks with the Midlands side to discuss his future.
“The club and I agreed to no more talks until it was certain we were safe,” he said.
