There is a certain contingent from North London looking up here in the Football Transfer Tavern as Metro claim that despite reports, neither of the big two sides from that half of the capital have made any enquiries for Daniel Agger.
The Liverpool defender has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield this summer with even Barcelona being keen on the Danish star before successfully prising away Arsenal’s Thomas Vermaelen yesterday.
It seems that despite reports coming from the press today, neither Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur have actually made any offers for the former Brondby player.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers moved to dispel the rumours, claiming: “I’ve seen some stories on that but, no, we haven’t had any enquiries.
“Dan’s still getting some work done on his knee, he’s been a bit unfortunate since America. He’s still getting treatment but we haven’t had anything, no offers.”
Both North London sides are looking to bring in reinforcements at the back this summer and after the Gunners lost Vermaelen, we thought that Arsene Wenger would be front and centre when it came to bidding for Agger.
Liverpool fans. Do you think Agger will still be at Anfield come the start of the season or will Rodgers sell him to a rival club if the offer is right? Let us know your thoughts below.
