The Liverpool supporters here in the Transfer Tavern are still partying hard following their 2-0 win over rivals Manchester United in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
Our landlord however may have some news to wipe the smiles away from their faces in Sunday’s edition of the Metro, who are reporting that striker Daniel Sturridge is a target for Italian outfit Napoli.
The ex-Chelsea striker netted the Reds’ first goal in Thursday’s victory but has struggled of late with a series of niggling injuries and Napoli feel that Sturridge might like the idea of a fresh start, with a new club.
It is unlikely that boss Jurgen Klopp will want to sell one of his prized assets, instead preferring to try and get the striker fit and firing during pre-season ready for a strong campaign next time around.
One Liverpool fan is sat puffing away on his e-cigarette here in the Tavern and thinks the club would be mad to sell the 26-year-old, stating that on his day he is still among the very best strikers in the league.
Liverpool fans, would you cash in on Sturridge? Are his best days behind him? Will he ever be injury free?
