Liverpool suffer blow as target appears to rule out switch

Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for some good deals in the summer window when it opens up for business.

Indeed, with the aim of them having Champions League football to contend in next season, too, they really do need to expand their squad from how it looks at the moment.

For sure, their squad is easily the smallest of the ‘big six’ and that will need to be amended sooner rather than later.

Rumours about who they could sign, then, should be expected but, as quoted by Complex, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain doesn’t seem to be thinking about moving to Anfield from Arsenal.

The talented midfielder has been linked with the Reds by the likes of The Telegraph recently but when asked what he felt the future held, he was very much focusing on Arsenal and England.

He said:

“My personal ambitions are always to play as well as I can and be as professional as I can for Arsenal and obviously stay in and around the England squad as well.”

Liverpool, then, might miss out on the former Southampton man whilst Arsenal will surely be pleased to see these comments coming to life.
