Liverpool suffer yet another injury blow as frustrating news emerges

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to get concerned about their side’s injury problems. The Reds have had a plethora of issues so far this season, with one notable absentee being Adam Lallana. Though he’s now back in the fold, his absence was duly noted by our resident Reds.

They’ve got a few issues going on at the moment, too, with the duo of Alberto Moreno and Jordan Henderson ruled out for the next two games at the very least. Unfortunately for Jurgen Klopp, though, that isn’t where his issues end.

Klopp has revealed, via the official Liverpool website, that Daniel Sturridge is also set for a layoff, having picked up a muscular injury. It remains to be seen just how long he will be out for, but Klopp described it as ‘not a big deal’, suggesting that it won’t be a long-term issue.

Sturridge’s entire tenure at Anfield has been plagued by injury, and his time under Jurgen Klopp has been particularly unfruitful. He’s been regularly unavailable, and with Roberto Firmino impressing, the more he gets injured, the fewer opportunities he’s going to get in the first team.

Klopp won’t be too concerned, given his attacking options, but it’s frustrating to lose yet another player during such a busy period.

Landlord’s Verdict

Sturridge in good form would walk into Liverpool’s first team, but this fine form has been nowhere to be seen in recent months.

The Englishman has hardly played this term, and that’s simply because he hasn’t been good enough. Another injury will do him no good.
