Liverpool table offer for Nottingham Forest’s Matthew Bondswell

Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking ahead to the upcoming Premier League season and will want to improve on last year’s fourth-place finish.

Jurgen Klopp has made a couple of additions to his squad to help make them a more competitive unit, with the arrivals of Naby Keita and Fabinho, whilst he has also struggled to get some of his other targets this summer.

Notably, they have so far found it difficult to bring a new goalkeeper to Anfield in order to replace Loris Karius, however, the manager has admitted he will stick by him despite his horror show in the Champions League final and their failure to land Olympique de Lyonnais’ Nabil Fekir.

However, according to a report by Football Insider, Klopp and Liverpool have gone back to the drawing board and have allegedly tabled an offer for Nottingham Forest’s Matthew Bondswell.

The left-back is widely regarded as one of the most outstanding talents coming through the English game and has attracted attention from the likes of Manchester United and clubs from around Europe.

It is understood the Reds are keen on landing the 16-year-old and are preparing to land the youngster on a bargain fee, which will cover the compensation costs owed to Forest for training him.

The Verdict:

Bondswell is a player that has been highlighted to have a talented future in the game and Liverpool trying to sign him now would be a smart move for the Reds.

The defender, if he does hit the potential that he is expected to, will cost a considerable amount of money in the future and the compensation fee would look a snippet of what may have to be spent later on.

Liverpool have been busy this summer adding to their youth ranks, with the likes of Bobby Duncan and Isaac Christie-Davies both joining them and now they will look to add another exciting star in Bondswell.
