Liverpool supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are toasting their 3-2 victory over Tottenham this afternoon and they continue their fine spirits when reports arrive that suggest Fiorentina forward Mounir El Hamdaoui would be interested in a move to England.
Speaking to Sky Sports the former Tottenham Hotspur man admitted that a move to Anfield would be a ‘dream’.
The 28-year-old Moroccan international has long been linked with a move back to the Premier League despite only moving from Dutch side Ajax last summer.
He had previously spent time at Tottenham while Martin Jol was manager in 2005 but spent his time on loan at Derby County and then the rest out injured.
However this hasn’t put him off returning as he explained to Sky Sports: “Being linked with Liverpool is flattering but I really think it is paper talk so far.
“Liverpool are a great club and to play there in a legendary stadium like Anfield would be fantastic and a dream.
“But I am at Fiorentina and I’m happy.”
Liverpool have already revealed that they plan to keep spending in order to give Brendan Rodgers appropriate backing in shaping his own squad and dynamics and a couple of his current recent signings have already impressed with Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho making bright starts to their new Anfield careers.
