Liverpool target Chelsea outcast Bertrand as left back replacement?

Ryan-BertrandIt’s already proving to be a busy summer for Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern and according to the Liverpool Echo, it is set to get even more hectic.

The Reds have been linked with a move for Chelsea outcast Ryan Bertrand who is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and is looking for a move – hopefully to a Champions League club.

Even spending the latter part of last season on loan at Aston Villa did not impress Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, who will be sticking with Cesar Azpilicueta.

The Blues boss is also keen on bringing in a new left back – namely Atletico Madrid’s Filipe Luis – and will happily sell Bertrand should any offer of note come in for him.

Liverpool fans in the tavern meanwhile are not exactly convinced by this link and think there are far better players out there for the club to be linked with, especially given they are about to return to the Champions League.

Liverpool fans. Would you be happy with the signing of Bertrand or is that not something you would be interested in? Can Brendan Rodgers do better? Let us know your thoughts below.
