Liverpool have been on the young midfielder’s trail and last summer were reported to be preparing a bid yet nothing materialised but just days ago The Mirror reported that Liverpool had renewed their interest.
Now news agency EFE claim that Alkmaar have entered talks with Club Nacional de Football for the 20 year old playmaker.
The Alkmaar side have allegedly made a €5 million offer for the 20-year-old, but Nacional want €7m for the midfielder and have turned down AZ’s first offer. The Dutch champions are not to be discouraged and are said to be preparing a second offer.
Lodiero has been earning rave review both for club where he made his debut at the age of 16 and for captaining Uruguay’s U20 team where in the recent U20 World Cup he grabbed 2 goals including a 25-yard strike against Uzbekistan.
As well as Liverpool, Napoli, Valencia, Villareal and Atletico Madrid have all shown interest in the youngster.
