Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t quite sure what to make of the latest transfer reports, after a major target rejected transfer reports but it seems there’s still scope for a move.
German outlet Bild spoke to Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze after Bundesliga’s final day on Saturday, where the World Cup final scoring midfielder denied reports he was surplus to requirements at the club but revealed he had held talks with incoming boss Carlo Ancelotti.
“I am fairly relaxed. We’ve won the German championship. I have won my fifth German championship. The joy outweighs everything.”
“I don’t know how the editors came up with this. I wasn’t aware someone listened. There are only a handful of people who know what has been discussed. That’s enough, and that’s all I will reveal.”
Gotze has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, which would see him reunite with former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp, but our landlord is still convinced there’s no chance of that happening if Liverpool fail to win the Europa League and subsequently miss out on a spot in next season’s Champions League.
