Mirror Football report that Aston Villa will give Austrian youngster Andreas Weimann a bumper pay rise this week to keep the striker away from interested parties including Liverpool, Newcastle United and Sunderland.
After scoring 12 goals to keep Villa in the Premier League during his first full season of top flight football, the 21-year-old has been one of the best players at Villa Park this term and his ensured displays have attracted interest from Premier League rivals.
Having joined Villa from Rapid Vienna aged just 16 in 2008, Weimann has emerged as a class act and with just one year on his contract the club are looking to put together a mega deal to keep him in claret and blue next season.
His agent, Robert Groener, said: “There is a meeting planned and we hope we can come to a successful conclusion.
“Andi will stay in the Premier League, but at which club I do not know at this moment. There are offers, but we will first meet Villa and listen to them.”
Liverpool are known to have shown interest while North East sides Newcastle and Sunderland are among other teams ready to pounce if Villa cannot agree a new deal with Weimann.
