Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are given good and bad news by talkSPORT as their West Brom target Saido Berahino questions who values him at £20 million.
The good news is that the Reds could potentially snip him from the Hawthorns for less than £20m, which is the price tag which has floated around the rumour mill.
But on the other hand, the 21-year-old also commented on how his priority is for him to grow and help the Baggies.
Berahino said: “I’ve no idea who is valuing me at £20m. The media loves hype, and if that’s what they think I am worth then that’s their opinion. I know my strengths and weaknesses; all I want to do is grow and score goals.”
He also came out to clear up confusion surrounding his character and attitude.
When the story came out that Tony Pulis was disciplining him for his comments, the media made him appear as an absolute nightmare.
But Berahino responded to this with: “The media wants me to be a bad boy, but those who know me know I’m not that. People read it so much it becomes fact.
“But if every footballer sat down and read everything that had been said about them, they’d lose their minds.
“I chose this career and you just have to get on with it, but certain people should be softer on me. I try to be a good guy. I’ve never met anyone I’ve hated or hold any grudges against. I’m as easygoing as any other 21-year-old.”
