Liverpool target to submit transfer request to force through move?

Adam Lallana, left, speaks with Mark Clattenburg during Southampton 2-1 defeat at EvertonLiverpool fans are looking excited here in the Football Transfer Tavern after it emerged that Adam Lallana may well force a move to the club – well according to The Guardian anyway.

It has been reported that Southampton are playing hardball with the England international midfielder, who they either want to keep or sell for no less than £25 million – a figure Liverpool are yet to reach in negotiations.

That of course means that the dream move Lallana craves so badly may well stall somewhat, unless the player himself is willing to get his hands dirty.

Lallana would have to submit a written transfer request and over a pint our punters do not think that is something the good natured player would be very happy doing, given he has been at the Saints for his entire career.

As our landlord points out, something must give and our regulars have no trouble believing that Lallana would ask to leave if push came to shove.

However, this is a golden season for the England player – having made England’s World Cup squad and we think that a move to a top four side and a chance to win titles could well be the next step in his career.

Will Lallana have to go as far as submitting a written transfer request to complete his summer switch to Liverpool? Let us know your thoughts below.
