There were sighs of relief from Swansea City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern this afternoon after Liverpool target Michu played down speculation linking him with a move away from Wales in the January transfer window.
He told BBC Sport that he is ‘very happy’ with life at the Liberty Stadium, however that is unlikely to prevent suggestions that he will be moving on soon after scoring 12 goals already this season.
Swansea manager Michael Laudrup recently informed interested parties that the club would only sell Michu for £30 million and that it is unlikely anyone will be prepared to pay that.
The Spanish striker, who is enjoying the form of his career, told Radio Marca that he loving life at the Liberty Stadium,
“Right now I`m happy, playing almost every minute and I`m very happy, he exclaimed.
“It is always nice that you get talked about with teams like Atletico Madrid, one of the largest in Spain, but now I am very happy in Swansea.”
It seems very unlikely that Swansea City will sell their star striker after only signing the forward from Rayo Vallecano for £2 million during the summer.
