Liverpool will be looking to pick up their first win of 2019 when they meet Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.
Jurgen Klopp witnessed his side’s lead at the top of the Premier League be reduced to four points following their defeat to Manchester City before being handed another defeat at the weekend by Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup.
The Anfield outfit will have the opportunity to extend their lead to seven over the weekend and Liverpool will be keen to rectify their little slump in form.
The game may have come too early for both Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip, however, the pair have returned to training.
The defender has not featured since December 11, whilst their skipper had missed their FA Cup defeat after picking up a knock against Manchester City and will have their fitness tested ahead of the fixture.
Dejan Lovern will definitely miss the match after he picked up a hamstring injury during the clash with Wolves.
The news surrounding Matip and Henderson will be encouraging for Klopp and Liverpool as they look to turn things around.
Both men play key roles for the Anfield outfit and the club will be keen to see them back on the pitch in the near future as they look to keep their Premier League title aspirations going.
Liverpool will want to ensure their two-match losing streak ends as soon as possible, however, Brighton do have the ability to cause some of the best teams problems – something Klopp will need to be wary of.
