The Reds are currently six points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur heading into the final game of 2018 and will want to start the second half of the campaign with a positive result.
However, it would appear that Jurgen Klopp’s side may have been handed a possibly huge blow ahead of the clash with the Gunners.
The vice-captain missed the game against Newcastle United on Boxing Day and Klopp is hopeful that he will be available for their match against Manchester City.
Liverpool will be looking to begin the second half of their Premier League title charge in a positive fashion, however, Milner’s absence could prove to be a potentially huge blow.
The former England international has proven to be a key player for the Anfield outfit under Klopp and has arguably become one of their best players.
The Reds will now be hoping that he can now be fit and available for the upcoming fixture against Manchester City on 3rd January.
