Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern look like the Daily Express has given them something to think about after their claim about Luis Suarez.
The publication have claimed that the Reds could well land not only £30 million in cash but also one of the stars from the World Cup should they allow Suarez to leave for Barcelona.
The Catalan club are thought to be leading the chase for Suarez and would only have to pay £52 million to land him – given the release clause in his contract lowers the price should Real Madrid or Barcelona come in for him.
Luis Enrique’s newly inherited side are willing to offer not only cash for the forward who destroyed England in last night’s 2-1 loss to Uruguay, but also Alexis Sanchez who is having one of the best World Cups of any forward out there for Chile.
Whilst they would ideally like to keep Suarez, our punters claim that Brendan Rodgers could certainly use Sanchez in his squad and would still have an out and out forward in the form of Daniel Sturridge.
Liverpool fans. Would you consider allowing Suarez to leave for cash and a top player or is it simply off the menu? Let us know your thoughts below.
