Former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is hoping to make current Reds target Jose Callejon his first big signing at Napoli this summer according to talkSPORT.
Benitez was immediately snapped up by the Italian club following his successful time at Chelsea and the Spaniard wants to sign his compatriot from the clutches of Liverpool.
Napoli are set to sell star man Edinson Cavani to either Manchester City or Chelsea and so will have a hefty transfer kitty to spend this summer to rebuild the attacking side of their team.
Liverpool are desperate to add their own attacking players as striker Luis Suarez has declared that he wants to leave Merseyside and England as well as Andy Carroll being on the verge of a move to West Ham United.
Boss Brendan Rodgers will not want to be without attacking options going into the new season as he was at times last season and so signings are set to be made sooner rather than later.
Callejon has been in and out of the Real Madrid side this season and is open to a move away from his boyhood club in order to gain first team football.
Will Callejon end up at Napoli this summer? Is it a big loss, Reds fans? Let us know your thoughts below.
