Liverpool to bump up Reds star to £100,000-a-week

Raheem Sterling v TottenhamLiverpool fans are absolutely thrilled to finally walk into the Football Transfer Tavern to the news that their superstar is set to sign a new bumper contract extension.

According to the Daily Mirror, the lucrative extension will see Raheem Sterling earn £100,000-a-week as Brendan Rodgers is desperate to kill off the endless rumours linking him with an exit from Anfield.

Punters in the tavern are delighted to hear this news too as they were desperate to seem him stay in Premier League after PSG and Real Madrid were chasing his signature.

Both European giants were hoping to pounce on Sterling who is in a vulnerable situation as he is only earning around £30,000-a-week, and both were willing to at least triple his wages in an attempt to tie him down.

Liverpool fans are relieved to finally see this news as they have continued to voice their frustration in the Tavern as they cannot believe they’ve allowed the 19-year-old to be in this situation.

Previously Rodgers was adamant that he was wary about handing young players a big wage too soon.

However it seems he has now caved in and after tying down fellow attacker Daniel Sturridge on a deal around £150,000-a-week, they are now turning their attentions to Sterling.
