There is some interesting news emerging in the Football Transfer Tavern as the Daily Star report that Liverpool are reportedly holding talks with Granada over signing their star defender Guilherme Siqueira who is also wanted by Merseyside rivals Everton.
The 27-year-old left-back has been watched by new Everton boss Roberto Martinez and the former Wigan boss believes that the £7million-rated ace would be a suitable replacement if in-demand defender Leighton Baines departs Goodison Park this summer.
However the former Udinese man has been lined up for a summer swoop by Brendan Rodgers as he looks to add defensive reinforcements ahead of the new campaign.
Siqueira current contract with the Andalusia based club runs until 2017 and the La Liga club are thought to want around £8million for his services should the Reds firm up their interest with an official offer.
The defender recently spoke about his future in Spain, confirming that he had been denied the chance to join Valencia while he admits that he would be interested in moving to a top European club in the near future.
He said: “I had a very good offer from Valencia last year and the club decided not to sell me.
“I simply told the club’s president that if there is another offer this year, that he should let me make my dream of playing for a big European club come true.
“He said yes, that he would help me. And this is what’s going on. If the offers that are coming are good for the club and for me, I think it’s the right moment to sell me.”
Real Madrid are also thought to be contenders for his signature with new Bernabeu boss Carlo Ancelotti identifying him as a possible replacement for Fabio Coentrao should the former Benifca man leave for Tottenham as part of the Gareth Bale deal.
