Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are feeling as though Liverpool are treading on their toes after Metro revealed that the Reds are planning on hijacking their move for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Douglas Costa.
The Blues were heavily linked with the Brazilian back in January before signing Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina, so punters get the impression that he is now next on their shopping list.
But the Reds are intending to sign him for themselves and are preparing a £20m bid to scupper Jose Mourinho’s efforts.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder is in a great position, with both club interested in him, but punters are unsure on which club he would prefer to join.
You would think at Anfield he is guaranteed more game time whilst at Stamford Bridge the squad is competitive that he would struggle to get frequent first team football – but probably win titles.
Douglas joined the Ukrainian club in 2010 for a fee £4.4m and it seems as though he is ready for a move to the big time after impressing over the past few years.
