They were without right back Glen Johnson for that game and according to reports in the Daily Star, the Merseyside club may have to get used to life without the defender.
That is because reports are suggesting that Italian giants Roma are keen on making a move for the former West Ham United and Chelsea defender.
Johnson is out of contract with the Merseyside club next summer and the 30-year old is yet to sign an extension at Anfield.
Liverpool will lose the England international for nothing next summer if a deal cannot be agreed.
Tis means that the Serie A outfit could make a £2 million offer for the defender as they look for a January bargain.
One stumbling block could be the players’ whopping £100,000 plus wages he currently receives at Liverpool.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp has also been linked with a move for the youngster whom he has worked with before but wages will also be an issue if he fancies a move to West London.
Liverpool fans. Johnson is not getting any younger; is it time to get the defender’s wages off the weekly bill? Let us know your thoughts below.
