Liverpool to pull the plug on proposed transfer swoop

Loic RemyShock is not the word here in the Football Transfer Tavern after the Daily Mirror break the news that Loic Remy will not be making the switch to Liverpool after failing his medical.

As one of our punters notes, this is certainly not something we saw coming and now it seems that it will be back to the drawing board for Brendan Rodgers in his hunt for a forward to replace Luis Suarez.

QPR forward Remy had spent last season on loan at Newcastle United and impressed enough to have both Arsenal and Liverpool keen on him.

However, we are now slightly worried for the Frenchman and think he could well have to help the West London club in their battle to stay in the Premier League next season.

Our landlord notes that whilst things are unclear at the minute, in the coming days we expect to learn more about why Remy failed the medical and what the problem was – and if Liverpool will be dropping their interest in the Frenchman altogether.

Liverpool fans. Would you wash your hands of Remy now or should you give him the chance to get fit and make the swoop again? Let us know your thoughts below.
