The Football Transfer Tavern is very busy tonight as fans start pouring in to watch the England game against Ecuador.
There’s a strong contingent of Liverpool fans standing in the corner by the jukebox and they’re discussing potential signings at Anfield.
The latest one on the tip of their tongues is former Barcelona midfielder Seydou Keita.
Keita reportedly turned down a move to Liverpool in January but according to the Daily Star, Brendan Rodgers is going to try and tempt the Ivorian again.
It’s believed that Keita turned down the Anfield club because they couldn’t make assurances over the amount of game time they could give him.
But it is not thought that the Mali international midfielder is keen on a move to the Premier League after Valencia missed out on Champions League qualification.
The 34-year-old is out of contract at the Mestalla and the Spanish club have given up hope of persuading him to sign a new deal.
Italian side Roma are also interested as both sides look to bulk out their sides with experienced players as they look to compete in next seasons’ Champions League.
Liverpool fans. Champions League experience could be key, but is Seydou Keita too old to waste your money on? Let us know your thoughts below.
