In the latest instalment of the Anfield power struggle, Roy Hodgson has been told by Damien Comolli to go out and buy players who can help establish a strong and bright future at Liverpool. First on the list is Manchester City’s Michael Johnson.
Johnson, a player of serious talent, has been sidelined by injuries and poor form and Hodgson has identified these qualities that would fit in at Anfield. Rumours are afoot that the young midfielder would cost £8 million, so is that a bargain for a future Premiership legend?
And are City mad to let him go? With a midfield packed full of stars, is a home grown talent who gets up and down, scores and loves the club deemed surplus to requirements? Has the world gone mad?
As of January the 1st, the transfer world will definitely be a little crazier.
