Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern can breathe easy for the moment as their side secured a place in the Champions League next season, however, they will be excited with the final against Real Madrid.
The Reds managed to beat Brighton and Hove Albion comfortably to ensure their place in next year’s tournament, but Jurgen Klopp is sure to make a number of additions this summer to ensure they can compete across all competitions next year.
The Sun are claiming that the German is targeting a move for Lewis Cook, with the midfielder having an impressive season at AFC Bournemouth this season. His performances for the Cherries in the Premier League have earned him his first England call-up and could have a place on the plane for this summer’s World Cup.
In a blow to those on Merseyside though, Cook is believed to be in talks with the Cherries over a new deal.
The Liverpool fans will be excited with the prospect of signing the 21-year-old this summer, as he could be used to replace Emre Can, who is believed to be departing Anfield for Juventus. The midfielder has already established himself as a Premier League player, and despite being so young, will allow for him to have a number of years at the top-level.
If he were to arrive at Anfield, Cook would only add to the number of England internationals currently playing for the club, alongside the likes of Adam Lallana, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Joe Gomez and Jordan Henderson.
The Reds locals will be wary that Bournemouth are trying to keep hold of the former Leeds United man, with Eddie Howe desperate to tie him down to a longer deal amid the interest from Merseyside.
