Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern once thanked David Moyes for his shambolic management at Manchester United during their decline but The Mirror reveal that the Scotsman wants Reds target Danny Ings to sign a pre-contract deal with his new side.
Liverpool have recently become strong favourites to land the prolific Burnley goalscorer especially after news broke out that he had his eyes set on a move to Anfield.
But now Moyes could throw a spanner in the works of a transfer story which once seemed pretty straightforward.
Instead, Ings jetted off to Spain on a secret flight on his weekend off to discuss his options with Sociedad.
And Moyes has left him with an offer which is hard to decline. The former AFC Bournemouth striker would earn £60,000-a-week, which is quadruple the amount of his current wage with the Clarets and on top of that, he will receive 40 per cent of his next transfer fee.
This bumper deal gives Sociedad a huge advantage over the Reds and if he pens a deal with Sociedad in the coming weeks, they could sign him for small fee of £300,000 at the end of the season.
