Liverpool fans are looking up rather curiously here in the Football Transfer Tavern as Metro claim that Mario Balotelli’s asking price has been slashed by half.
AC Milan are determined to offload the troubled forward this summer and despite initially asking for around £28 million, they are now willing to accept £14 million for the forward – something that we think Brendan Rodgers will find very appealing.
The Reds are of course looking for a new forward after the departure of Luis Suarez and have £75 million to splash.
Now as one of our punters points out, we know that Balotelli comes with a fair bit of baggage.
However, one thing that we do know is that he can score fairly regularly in the Premier League and those type of strikers are actually harder to find than you may think – just ask Chelsea.
Arsenal had also been linked with the Italian forward earlier this summer and he is thought to favour a move to London.
Given the dramatic drop in price, there could well be some revived interest from Arsene Wenger too.
Liverpool fans. Do you think Balotelli could be the right replacement for Suarez or would this be like getting all the bad of Suarez and none of the ability? Let us know your thoughts below.
