The Merseyside outfit have reportedly been interested in signing Monaco striker Radamel Falcao, however the Daily Mail reports that the Colombian striker would prefer a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Falcao only moved to the French outfit last summer in a peculiar £50 million deal from Atletico Madrid but it is believed that he is unimpressed with life in France and is keen on a move back to Spain.
Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing the striker but due to Financial Fair Play rules, they are only interested in moving for him on loan with a view to signing him permanently next season.
However it is believed that Monaco will agree to the deal if they receive no other bids for him in the next two weeks.
Brendan Rodgers has openly said that signing a world class striker within this transfer window is his priority as he prepares to go one better than last season’s second place finish.
But it remains to be seen whether Falcao could make his way to Anfield should a fee be agreed with the Ligue 1 club.
