The Mirror has got Liverpool fans all excited in the Football Transfer Tavern as they have linked the Reds with one of Lazio’s young forwards who was formerly a hot prospect in Barcelona’s youth academy.
The 19-year-old, Keita Balde Diao, is currently unhappy at the amount of first team football he is getting at the Stadio Olimpico and this has alerted Brendan Rodgers.
Diao has not started a game this season despite scoring five goals in 15 games for the Rome-based club last term and this disillusionment has led to the Spanish youngster considering the Premier League.
The striker clearly has an eye for goal after scoring 47 goals whilst on a season-long loan at UE Cornella, whilst on Barcelona’s books.
Liverpool were linked to the striker all summer in the tavern and it goes without saying that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is also interested in hot prospect.
Lazio have previously requested £24 million for their man but have reportedly lowered their asking price to £15 million.
Punters in the tavern have thought of the potential striking partnership between Diao and their current on loan Belgian forward Divock Origi, which could become one of the most feared forward lines of the future, as it provides both pace and power.
Liverpool fans. Do you think it is worth forking out this money for another future talent or should Brendan Rodgers be looking for a more immediate option to fix his striking problems? Let us know your thoughts below.
